Essex was once known as ‘Witch County’ due to the amount of witchcraft trials that took place here.
This unisex tee commemorates our heritage, and was designed by Nick Hearne for The Essex Witch Museum.
The front of the tee has The Essex Witch Museum logo on the left breast. The back features three broomsticks representing the three seaxes from the Essex flag, under the words ‘Witch County’. 1565 refers to the hanging of Elizabeth Lowys from Great Waltham, the first person executed in England under the ‘Witchcraft Act’ of 1562.
